Subject: Letter From Macedonia: Owning Alexander

Dear Editors,

Earlier today, and much to my surprise, I ran in the above mentioned article in the online version of Archaeology. I would expect, a respectable Journal specializing in Archaeology to hold an impartial stand on the intense historical and political propaganda of the state of Skopje (FYROM).
First of all the name of the country is FYROM, not Macedonia - you should be the first ones to declare the falsification of history from a Slavic country. Then, you actually debate Alexander's the great origin? Trying to rewrite History, during the age of information, is not going to be an easy task!
All the evidence, historical and scientifically accepted evidence including ruins and written documents, solidify the Hellenic heritage of Macedonia, and actually place Macedonians as one of the Hellenic tribes that make the Hellenic race.
The recent state of FYROM plays dangerous political games, based on historic forgery, to change the geo-politics in the south Balkan area. Aside the politics, a scientific journal dealing with History should state the facts and promote truth - politics are for the politicians - this time your respected journal failed to do so.
There is no point of me trying to convince you that Macedonia, of course, is a part of Hellas (quoting Strabo) - you know that for a fact.
I want to believe that this article, the tone and the content, is an honest mistake on your side and you do not deliberately promote historical forgery and opportunistic propaganda - from any side.
I hope that you take all the necessary actions to correct the mistake.

Sincerely,
